Description
This is a brilliant wine. It’s a hand harvested, fully ripened wine from the Aligoté grape that usually does nothing grander than getting mixed with Crême de Cassis to make Kir, the Ribena-ish aperatif named after a Félix Kir, a parish priest, politician and hero of the French Resistence. Céline Côté’s Aligoté has already attracted a loyal following among our customers because, although expensive looking for the grape variety, it delivers exactly what fans of White Burgundy look for: the mineral feel from being grown on limestone rich soil near Chablis, aromas of white hedgerow flowers, lively acidity and layers of richness concentration and complexity.
